A Look Inside Our Piano Studio

Teacher Biographies

        As you can see by our photo above, we are the proud parents of six. However, we also teach piano lessons, and in addition to teaching our own children, have taught hundreds of piano students in Austin since 1989!

        Brian Henselman, BM, RPT, is the founder of MusicMasters Piano Service. Mr. Henselman attended the University of Louisville School of Music and graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Applied Piano Performance. In addition to teaching, Brian is an acclaimed concert piano technician who loves working on pianos.

        Having studied Piano Pedagogy while majoring in Applied Piano Performance, Brian teaches most of our younger piano students. He really enjoys introducing students to the world of music. By developing their musical foundation and skillset, his students not only learn to perform well, but love their music.

        In addition to being our in-house geek, (i.e. web-designer and audio/visual technician) Brian enjoys conducting ensembles. He has conducted ADMTA Piano Ensemble teams numerous times at TMTA conventions, once while wearing a cow costume!

        Jeannie Henselman, BM, JD, and stay-at-home mother of our six children, also attended the University of Louisville School of Music. In 1989, Mrs. Henselman graduated first in her class with her Bachelor's Degree in Applied Piano Performance. Jeannie then attended the University of Texas School of Law and graduated in 1992 with a Doctor in Jurisprudence Degree.

        Having been a child prodigy and competitive pianist, Jeannie teaches our older students and works with those students seeking to compete. A recovering attorney and consummate pianist, Mrs. Henselman's strict but loving approach to lessons emphasizes advanced performance skills and is best suited for ambitious independent young artists.

        In addition to being the organist each Sunday at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Lakeway, Jeannie runs the business side of MusicMasters Piano Service. She handles all lesson scheduling, is our in-house concerto accompanist, and teaches our group theory classes where she is affectionately known as the "Theory Goddess".
