My name is Brian Henselman. I am an RPT (Registered Piano Technician, member of the PTG) who in 1989 opened MusicMasters Piano Service and began specializing in commercial concert tuning and piano service. I am an Old-School aural piano tuner who still tunes by ear. My commercial tuning clients in Austin, San Marcos, and Round Rock include Texas State University, Paramount Theater, Round Rock ISD Performing Arts Center, Austin Civic Orchestra, The Cactus Cafe, and Bismeaux Studio. * Here is a sample review of our concert tuning (February 2010): "Brian, words cannot express my gratitude to you for giving up your Saturday night for an emergency tuning. You really saved the performance... thank you for your dedication to presenting the highest quality music possible. This was a big performance for us, with a sell-out crowd and an internationally recognized pianist. Only the best would be good enough, and you gave that to us." Madeleine Manigold, President, Spicewood Arts Society. Although the majority of my tuning is for commercial venues, music schools, churches, recording studios, and artist/faculty studios, I also tune and service high quality residential pianos as well. I prefer to work on Yamaha, and Kawai pianos, but enjoy working on any fine piano (i.e. Steinway) that warrants a concert technician. In addition to tuning, I also perform repairs, action regulation/rebuilds, and concert voicing. I am located in Oak Hill. However, my tuning rates are comparable to Austin's other piano stores. I charge $125 plus tax for a complete A-440 concert tuning within the city of Austin, Buda, Dripping Springs, Kyle, Lakeway, San Marcos, and Round Rock. Churches or venues with multiple pianos being tuned in one location are eligible for a discount. However, if your piano has been neglected, you'll need to budget for a pitch raise (up to $40 extra). |
